Special Occasions

Il Piccolo has a well-earned reputation for hosting some interesting and highly enjoyable events.

Upstairs is the wine store with a large selection of red, white and sparkling wines, we hope to run wine tasting sessions in the future. The top floor of the building is currently in use as a gallery where local artists can exhibit their work.

The gallery is the old Co-op warehouse and its original crane is still in situ, making a striking feature overhanging the centre of the room. A traditional log burner forms the centrepiece. We hope to keep everything traditonal and in keeping with aspects of the original building, so that nothing looks out of place.

The room can be used for exhibitions and private functions, but the long-term aim is to turn it into ‘The Crane Room’ as an extension of the restaurant.

Wine Tastings

Wine tasting are held regularly and invited guests enjoy a fun evening sampling wines, and learning about them, with good food and great company. These events are very popular and vary, from blind tastings and a little fun competition to more formal presentations from Il Piccolo's respected suppliers, including the spectacular Villa Renaldi.

Exhibitions

We have a room on the top floor which is a lovely space for art exhibitions and other events such as book signings. The room is available for hire and catering can be provided - of course.

Private Parties

Special occasions are celebrated in style at Il Piccolo - we certainly know how to throw a party and make everyone welcome.
